The God Who Sees

The God Who Sees

God’s choice is not always our choice, and His knowledge reaches beyond what we can see.

In Week 2 of After God’s Own Heart, Samuel grieves Saul’s failure and travels to Bethlehem to anoint a new king. Jesse’s eldest son seems like the obvious answer, but God’s correction exposes the limits of even a faithful prophet’s judgment. David is called from the sheep and equipped by God’s Spirit for the work ahead.

This message explores wounded trust, the danger of mistaking familiarity for faithfulness, and the value of ordinary service before anyone notices. David’s calling leads us toward Jesus, the faithful King who knows us completely, bears our judgment at the cross, and rises to offer forgiveness to everyone who believes.

Because acceptance rests in Christ, we can receive correction, welcome others, and take the next faithful step without making every room an audition.
