In this sermon from Daniel 3, we continue the summer series Small Stories, Big Faith by looking at Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego before Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image and burning furnace.
Their confession gives us a needed picture of faith: “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us… But if not…” This is not resignation or presumption. It is trust that keeps praying, keeps walking, and keeps worshiping because God is able and God is good.
Daniel 3 points us to Jesus Christ, the faithful Son who refused every idol, entered judgment for His people, and assures us that in Him we are never abandoned in the fire.
