Welcome Home: Meeting in A New (Old) Venue!

Welcome Home: Meeting in A New (Old) Venue!

Friends, today we get to share some incredibly happy and exciting news. Beginning this Sunday, Hudson’s Hope Chapel have a new home. Going forward, we will be meeting for worship, teaching, prayer, and fellowship at the House of Hope Community Church building at 9702 Beattie Drive.

Over the past few months our leaders from both congregations have prayed, compared schedules, and worked through the practical pieces. The short version: there is room for all of us, and the House of Hope family have extended a warm invitation, and we are thrilled to follow God’s lead into this new season for our church.

When we met with the team from House of Hope earlier, their first words to us were “Welcome Home” and, in a very real and sincere way, it truly did feel like a homecoming–especially if you know our history to this point, both shared and apart.

What Changed—and What Hasn’t

Hudson’s Hope Chapel remains an independent congregation with its own leadership team, preaching calendar, and mission to love God, equip His people, and serve the Peace region. And House of Hope Community Church likewise will continue as the faithful congregation they have always been, fulfilling the call God has given them as a community of prayer and worship.

We will continue to have our own callings, our own visions, and our own sense of how God has called us fulfil the Great Commission in this time, and location. This is not a merger, takeover, or loss of identity on either side; it is a resource sharing arrangement between two churches who love Jesus, love each other, and want to make good use of the facilities and resources He entrusted to us.

What is changing is the opportunity before us. Meeting at House of Hope gives our congregation more seating, improved accessibility, and kid-ready space without changing our Sunday rhythm of prayer, teaching and worship: doors open at 10:30 AM for coffee, worship begins at 11:00, and we stick around for lunch.

However, while we will continue to meet separately for our weekly worship, it also lets both congregations explore ways to support one another, and stand together as God’s people with joint ministries where collaboration makes sense, while still scheduling separate gatherings the rest of the week.

Collaborative Opportunities Right Away

As we celebrate this move, we will continue to share weekly potluck lunches. immediately after the Sunday service. Members from House of Hope will also be invited to join us for this shared meal, before continuing with their weekly prayer and worship service from 2:00-4:00 PM.

We are also teaming up for several community-facing celebrations this Christmas Season:

Additionally, homes from both churches will be participating in our Christian Heritage Month window decorating trail throughout the month of December. We are incredibly excited to have opportunities to work together with our christian brothers and sisters — and dear friends — to share God’s love with the people of Hudson’s Hope.

These are early steps, and we’ll continue to discern future partnerships that honour each congregation’s calling.

Perfect Timing with Advent

The move coincides with the launch of our new sermon series, The Long-Awaited King, running November 16 through December 28. Advent is the church calendar’s season of waiting, and sharing this venue feels like one more reminder that God keeps His promises in His timing. Each week looks at how everyday people—prophets, Mary, Joseph, shepherds, Simeon, Anna, and the early church—responded when God drew near.

If you’re eager for Christmas to be more than a date on the calendar, you are welcome.

Join Us This Sunday

Bring your curiosity, your questions, and maybe a dish to share.

Say hello to our friends from House of Hope who are making room for us, and meet the Hudson’s Hope Chapel family who have found a home in this place. We will worship, take communion, and then linger over lunch like a big family. Please park along Beattie Drive or in the rear lot, and let us know if you need accessibility assistance—we are ready to help.

We are grateful for the unity God is building across our town, and we look forward to seeing how this shared space can bless Hudson’s Hope in the season ahead.
