Luke leads Hudson’s Hope Chapel as an elder. He also serves full time as a Community Chaplain, working with Fellowship Chaplaincy.
Luke was born and raised in the UK, growing up in the in the Birmingham and Black Country area, but has long had a heart to serve the people western Canada, with a specific love for the Peace Region.
In the early 2000’s, he served as a missionary for three years with LifeFORCE Teams International, travelling throughout western Canada, working with churches, schools, and other community organizations, as well as time in the UK and Malta. During this time, he spent several months in Dawson Creek, including two Christmas’s, and absolutely fell in love with this part of the world.
In the years that followed, he has worked in various forms of Christian ministry, including owning and running a Christian resource centre, which included a christian bookshop, coffee shop, and outreach space, as well as spending time working for various local churches in several support roles, including running and managing the technology and online ministry of a large Anglican parish, and working in various kinds of children and youth outreach.
However, in 2015, Luke began to feel the call to full time pastoral ministry, and a pull towards returning to Canada. He attended Moorlands Bible College, graduating in 2018 with a First Class Batchelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Applied Theology, with a specialism in Missional Leadership. During his studies, he also served as a full-time pastoral trainee at St. Thomas Church, Aldridge.
In 2020, Luke came to Hudson’s Hope, serving as lead pastor of Hudson’s Hope Bible Fellowship (later renamed House of Hope Community Church). For four years, Luke faithfully served our community, through an unprecedented time, including shepherding the church through Covid-19. During this time, Luke served in many ways, including as the church’s primary preacher/teacher, serving on the board as elder, and providing pastoral care. In addition Luke was responsible for leading, overseeing, and supporting the church, in several ministries and outreaches, including a coffee house (later also including soup kitchen), children’s and youth ministries, Restoration Prayer Ministry, leading small group bible studies and newcomers groups, etc.
In 2024, the church embarked on a new journey, which included leaving our denomination, The Fellowship, and regional partners Fellowship Pacific. At this time, it became clear that Luke and his family still felt called to minister within The Fellowship, and was appointed as a Fellowship Chaplain, serving the community of Hudson’s Hope and working directly for The Fellowship. Luke also remains a licensed and credentialed minister in BC under Fellowship Pacific. Hudson’s Hope Chapel is one of the key ways Luke fulfils his chaplaincy ministry here.
He is a married husband to Ruth, a qualified teacher, working with our local school, and who also oversees our children’s outreach.
In addition to serving at Hudson’s Hope Chapel, Luke was also recently appointed as President of the Friends of Hudson’s Hope, a local charity which helps meet the felt needs of our community.
