The Battle Is the Lord’s

This morning in 1 Samuel 16, we were reminded that God’s choice is not always our choice. He knows more than we can see.
Samuel’s disappointment gives way to a new task, and his confident first impression gives way to God’s correction. David is called from caring for sheep and receives God’s Spirit for the work ahead.
Ordinary faithfulness matters before anyone notices. And in Jesus, the King who knows and forgives, we can find freedom from living as though every room is an audition.
This week, give someone time to be heard, receive correction with humility, or carry out an ordinary responsibility without needing applause.
